° General. The KTI /V/U 5000 series is designed to operate in band I as common linear amplifiers of audio and video carriers.
 

• 5000 watt output power in continuous service: these amplifiers can work with full power in continuous service (24 hours a day) with the greatest security, thanks to very reliable technical solutions employed.

 

• 120 watt excitation are enough to achieve full output power.

 

• Suitable as final amplifier for medium power transmitters or like driver for high power amplifiers.

 

• Long life tube: the tubes employed are particularly strong tetrodes which working point has been chosen within safety area.

This guarantees a long average life also in not ideal conditions.

 

• Instrumentation and controls, located on front panel, allow amplifiers most important functions quick checking.

 

• Precision directional coupler guarantees accurate measures and fast protections intervention.

 

• Output notch filter maintains spectral quality over International standards limits (CCIR/FCC/DOC).

 

• Electronic protections, with indication of light, intervene in case of:

- excessive power drain

- blowing stop or insufficient cooling

- over temperature of cavity

- excessive IG2

- excessive VG2

- excessive Ia

- excessive Va

- excessive direct power

- excessive VSWR

 

• Forced air cooling. An over dimensioned centrifugal fan, guarantees tube and cavity cooling.
