Totally modular amplifier composed of five PJ1000M separate amplifiers
and a "state of the art" combiner system (HC5/5) On the front panel of all PJ5000M-C's (PJ3000M's) equipments, by means a user-friendly graphic interface, all the diagnostic and control parameters are displayed. Coupling system realized with "Suspended-Substrate Strip-Line Technology", equipped with internal protections (excess of unbalancing, excess of VSWR, over-temperature, overdrive) for the complete checking of the equipment Exceptionally high gain of power amplifier with relatively low input Automatic gain control providing fixed output power even in case of fluctuating drive power High reliability, easy handling and consistent performance standard achieved among the various units due to total absence of tuning requirements Very high efficiency of power amplifier, typically capable of more than 5000 W, output power with about 120 W of drive input power Each amplifier is composed of four parallel 300 W R.F. power amplifier modules for highest reliability These modules are coupled through a Wilkinson Splitter and Combiner realized with "Strip-Line Technology" For each amplifier: internal and Antenna VSWR, excessive temperature and excessive drive power protection, with indicator lights, which will put the transmitter driver in stand-by position in the event of failure For each single amplifier is present a protection that in case of overcurrent on one 300 W power amplifier Module reduces the voltage on the drain of the pair of 300 W modules interesting in faulty; then, this protection card check the status of each single R.F. Power Amplifier module's protection fuse High efficiency switching power supply Compact size dimensions with built in power supply Easily replaceable standard components Each single amplifier and the HC5/5 are equipped of advanced recycling overload and protection system that provides automatic re-start after about 10 seconds of stand-by in case of fault. This procedure is repeated four times and in case of persisting fault, the cycle restarts again after 90 seconds, for four more times. If fault still persists, the stop becomes permanent. If instead, during one of the re-start the fault disappears the counting circuit system is resetted after a regular working period of 90 seconds If one or more power amplifier modules fail (totally or partially) it automatically reduces output power to a safe value but continues transmitting Terminals Strip for telemetry and remote control |
